                        <description><![CDATA[JOB SCOPE/SUMMARY: 
Supervise milling operations and personnel at a production facility
Ensure work is performed in a safe, timely and quality manner consistent with guidelines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate and assign milling work and supervise milling personnel in the activities of processing raw materials into finished product. 
2. Provide guidance, training, feedback and annual performance reviews for milling department personnel.
3. Instruct and ensure compliance of all Milling Operators in standard milling procedures, required safety and environmental practices and housekeeping responsibilities. 
4. Plan milling operations, establish priorities, sequences and prepare schedules for milling work.
5. Resolve routine operational, maintenance and staffing problems.
6. Perform daily crew assignments, supervise the job performance of milling operators and provide regular feedback and support. 
7. Visually inspect raw materials to verify quality and report discrepancies to Quality Control.
8. Perform quality control testing on in-process materials to determine performance to standards.
9. Inform maintenance of all necessary repairs and equipment malfunctions.
10. Monitor raw material supplies to insure adequate inventories for the production schedule.
11. Utilize data-based computer programs to perform cycle count, milling transactions, and test scheduling.
12. Utilize computers control systems including operational automations and SAP systems and train operators on the use of these systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Education equivalent to High school diploma and 4 years work experience required
Bachelors preferred
Six months experience in milling operations preferred
Experience using computers in manufacturing
Successful supervisory experience 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:
Thorough knowledge of chemicals 
Knowledge of all control systems, SAP system and transactions for the department and relationship the department has with other functional departments
Knowledge of milling operations, equipment, procedures, safety procedures and applicable OSHA and environmental rules and regulations and quality control procedures
Ability to supervise, train, delegate and effectively communicate with employees 
Ability to plan, organize and complete assignments on time
Ability to follow detailed instructions, troubleshoot and solve problems
Ability to make mathematical calculations involving weight and volume measures in fractions, decimals and percentages
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Convert, normalize and migrate data from a variety of database, text and image formats into and out of our platform. This requires scripting and database work in SQL Server. Build and improve tools to efficiently automate data analysis and manipulation tasks. Meet ad-hoc requests. Examples of this could be a one-time report in a specific format, a complicated data migration and cleanup. Modify and create reports using Crystal reports as needed. Develop scripts and applications as needed to enhance and deliver on objectives Provide written description of use and creation of datasets and cubes Demonstrate reliability in monitoring all daily logs and processes to ensure proper and timely data transmissions and synchronization of SLX data Responsible for all company-wide SQL databases including Oracle Monitor space and system resource utilization Monitor and optimize the performance of the Database Maintain existing Database monitoring and administration of database security Plan and update disaster recovery plan for all databases.
REQUIREMENTS: Degree or in the process of attaining one in business or related area Self-directed and self-motivated 3-4 years experience developing tools and applications against relational databases in SQL Server. Experience with relational database administration. SSIS experience required SQL 2005 experience required Experience with VBA or VB is a big plus. Proficiency with stored procedure programming and query optimization Experience with SalesLogix a plus Experience with gathering and clarifying client requirements is a plus.
