The position is located inRenoNevadaand supports operations throughout the western US.Essential Functions:· Provide technical support to the Asphalt and Energy Manager on raw product selection, blending/compatibility, and formulation to optimize asphalt product management.· Perform asphalt and emulsion finish product formulation for operations.· Develop and implement an Asphalt Quality Management System to ensure compliance with quality standards, certification programs and provide value added benefit to customers.· Support the binder component of implementation of a strategic effort to promote the use of asphalt related technologies such as warm mix asphalt, HMA recycling, and maintenance treatments including technical sales/marketing.· Develop and maintain strong relationships with in-house estimating, plants and construction personnel, outside customers, vendors, agencies, and industry personnel.· Collaborate with operations to identify and support design the delivery of cost-effective asphalt related construction materials solutions for conventional and alternative delivery method projects.· Conduct and review engineering design and analyses, as well as QC information to save engineering and production costs to the company.· Participate in various industry association (NAPA, AI) and agency (state and local government) technical activities to help form specification and certification requirements.· Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers evidenced by consistent positive customer feedback.· Participate in and promote Granite?s safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.· Comply with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations to perform duties in a safe manner.Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, or related Engineering field or equivalent work experience. â¢ Participate on engineering team for network design â¢ Design, test, document networks to organization standards
