Job Description 
Like all the cars out on the road, the Army National Guard can&apos;t run without fuel. And it&apos;s the Petroleum Supply Specialist who makes sure we keep moving. As an Army National Guard Petroleum Supply Specialist you will ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas. These are skills you will learn that could lead directly to a lucrative civilian career with oil refineries, pipeline companies, and tanker truck and ship lines. 
Petroleum Supply Specialists primarily supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products. This may include operating specialized pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft; selecting and submitting samples of petroleum-based products for testing; performing petroleum and water accounting activities; testing petroleum samples for contamination; repairing specialized equipment; and being knowledgeable about facility safety procedures and storage guidelines.
Earn while you learn 
As an Army National Guard Petroleum Supply Specialist, you will learn these valuable job skills while getting up to a $20,000 enlistment bonus, earning a regular paycheck, and qualifying for tuition assistance. Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to learn. The Army National Guard even offers certified apprenticeship programs for some specialties in this occupation.
Major duties

Enlistment Bonus up to $20,000
The military publishes newspapers and broadcasts television and radio programs for its personnel and the public. These services are an important source of general information about people and events in the military. Broadcast journalists and newswriters write and present news programs, music programs, and radio talk shows. 
Duties and Responsibilities for Public Affairs include but are not limited to:
Gather information for military news programs and publications 
Write radio and TV scripts 
Develop ideas for news articles 
Arrange and conduct interviews 
Collect information for commercial media use 
Select photographs and write captions for news articles 
Write news releases, feature articles, and editorials 
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts internal, community relations, and media relations communications activities 
Engages in print and broadcast journalism, to include writing, editing and publishing base newspapers, periodicals, guides, pamphlets, fact sheets, and radio and television scripts 
Uses audiovisual resources to support public affairs activities 
Prepares and releases news for internal and civilian media, arranges, conducts tours, and conducts community relations activities 
Researches and writes speeches
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Broadcast journalists and newswriters work in broadcasting studios, sometimes outdoors, depending upon the research needed for their articles. 
TRAINING PROVIDED
Job training consists of 9 to 12 weeks of classroom instruction. Course content typically includes: 
CIVILIAN COUNTERPARTS
Broadcast journalists and newswriters work for newspapers, magazines, wire services, and radio and television stations. Their duties are similar to those performed by military journalists and newswriters. They may be employed as newscasters, disc jockeys, writers, directors, producers, editors, or correspondents. 
OPPORTUNITIES
The military has about 2,100 broadcast journalists and newswriters. On average, the services need about 160 new broadcast journalists and newswriters each year. After job training, they research and announce news stories and music programs. Eventually, they may become editors or editorial assistants or managers of broadcasting stations.

The Army National Guard is looking for motivated individuals to become Language and Cultural Specialists. 
As a Specialist, you will be part of a team whose leaders will rely on your expertise in the regional culture and your fluency in an Arabic and/or Southwest Asian language or dialect to: 
Interpret conversations among Soldiers and members of the local community; 
Advise commanders on issues of cultural relevance during interactions with foreign officials and citizens; 
Assist the Public Affairs Office during local media events; 
Utilize language and cultural expertise to support military checkpoints; 
Translate materials from English to the select language and vice versa; and 
Assist a military contracting officer with local purchases. 
REQUIREMENTS 
You are eligible to join the Army National Guard if you meet the following criteria*: 
Have a high school diploma or GED 
Are between the ages of 17 and 42 
Physically, academically and legally qualify (must be a permanent resident card holder or US citizen) 
Can demonstrate basic reading, listening and speaking skills of the English language.

If you qualify for Guard membership and are interested in the Language and Cultural Specialist program, you must exhibit fluency in at least one of the following languages or dialects: 
Arabic (Algerian, Egyptian, Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Libyan, Modern Standard, Moroccan, Saudi, Sudanese, Syrian, Tunisian and/or Yemeni); 
Kurdish (Behdini and/or Sorani); 
Persian (Afghan and/or Iranian); or 
Pushtu (Afghan and/or Pashto). 
TRAINING 
Individuals entering the Language and Cultural Specialist program may be required to attend English-language training to improve English language skills and to prepare mentally and physically for the next steps in becoming a Soldier. 
Next you will attend nine weeks of Basic Training, where you learn essential skills all Soldiers must know. 
Lastly, you must complete a six-week course on the fundamentals of translating and interpreting, before becoming a Language and Cultural Specialist.

Interface regularly with executive management to provide technical accounting assistance as it impacts key decisions. Position is a direct report to the Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller.

Review targets in light of corporate objectives and provide objective insights. Â· Redesign key accounting and administrate processes to improve efficiency and internal controls. Must be able to work with all levels of the Sealaska organization to effectively manage change.Â· Provide financial analyses as requested by senior management. This will require an understanding of Sealaskaâs Oracle system. Work with Oracle reporting tools such as ADI and Discoverer to retrieve critical information needed for analysis and decision making.Â· Work with internal and external auditors as needed to resolve technical accounting questions or issues. Â· Work with IT in ensuring Oracle meets the accounting and reporting needs of Sealaska. Â· Assist with special projects as requested.Job RequirementsÂ· Bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA, or advanced accounting degreeÂ· 5+ years prior work experience in technical accounting Â· Working knowledge of current and evolving accounting principles and their impact or potential impactÂ· Experience with large ERP systems. Oracle, experience a plus. Â· Expert knowledge of Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excellent communication skills.
