Humana Cares, a new division of Humana Inc seeks a Director of Actuarial Analysis to perform actuarial and related data mining analysis for their business. 
This position will work in close collaboration with other members of the executive team. The individual in this role will track and monitor the performance of the Humana Cares programs against the program&apos;s requirements, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to strategic program design and innovation in order to maximize Humana&apos;s competitive position in the Medicare, Commercial and International healthcare markets. The Director will be responsible for:
Producing and tracking all of the cost and utilization statistics for the managed populations
Performing analyses and comparisons of the intervention and control groups
Conducting data mining and modeling of new intervention and outreach opportunities
Linking cost and utilization information and insights to operational and clinical outcomes
Producing information required for the programs. 
Working in concert with the executive team to develop information and presentations that demonstrate Humana Cares impact and results
Creating projections based on current program experience
Developing cost models for expansions
Developing predictive modeling tools and stratifications algorithms to better identify candidates for appropriate interventions
Key Competencies
Role Essentials
Applicants should be an ASA or near-FSA with at least five (5) years of actuarial experience, with a focus on health care and and/or experience in the analysis of clinical programs.
Role Desirables
Experience must include proven capabilities to develop, analyze and report information in a variety of settings with differing audiences
Applicants should have strong knowledge of metric development, statistical analysis and data mining methodologies
Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams which together are managing to strict metrics under aggressive timelines
Proficiency with SQL, Excel required, and SAS preferred.
Knowledge of healthcare systems, health plans, and/or care/disease management required.
Experience with risk based, performance based contracts, CMS and/or start up ventures is a plus.
