The Senior System Engineer&apos;s role is to design, implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade both new and existing server and infrastructure for a multi-data center environment. The successful candidate will also participate in the areas of Telecommunications and Network support.

Technical Skills/Experience:

Required - 5 to 10 years of experience in a Data Center environment - Extensive experience with Active Directory - Experience with MS Exchange 2003 - Experience with MS Windows 2000/2003 Server (installation, troubleshooting, performance evaluation and improvement etc.) - Familiar with MS SQL Server 2000/2005 - Familiar with MS IIS - VM Ware ESX 2.0 or above including Virtual Center - Experience with VPN systems/technologies - Experience with planning and implementing back-up solutions - Experience with monitoring systems such as AppManager, Site Scope, MOM, OpenView, Tivoli, UniCenter or similar tools - Experience with deployment of packages using tools such as BigFix, SMS, or Altiris - Familiar with network protocols such as: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IGRP/EIGRP, STP, VRRP, HSRP, PPP, NAT, QOS, SNMP, VoIP, ACLs - Familiar with Firewalls, Switches, Routers and basic troubleshooting - Experienced with SAN and/or NAS technologies

Functional Description:
Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of company products which require use of ingenuity and creativity. Based on broadly defined problems study basic design concepts and criteria for assigned highly complex materials, components, or functional systems to ascertain the engineering principles involved and to adopt features from previously successful designs of a similar nature. Without detailed direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems. Study the operation of systems, select major components to meet functional and operational requirements, and determine the optimum location and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing, and service standpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. Perform highly complex analysis, test, design and/or development. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis
2. Plan strategies for analysis, test and design used for task planning and execution. Analyze project requirements and develop detailed objectives and detailed planning, conceptual designs and risk analysis.
3. Develop and oversee test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Analyze and review test data.
4. Lead in the development of reports and design notes. Document and present results of analysis, test and design.
5. Interact with internal and external customers. Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems. Support new business and prepare proposal material.
6. Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering team in the design, test, production and maintenance phases of a project.
7. Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to be given to internal and external customers.
Education and Typical Years Experience
EDUCATION
A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.

Special Requirements
Programming experience on the Windows platform with C, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic and C# (or other [URL Withheld] language)
Experience designing databases and writing stored procedures or embedded SQL using either SQL Server or Oracle.

Description:
Candidate should be familiar with installation, configuration and management of Dell Servers, network utilities, Microsoft Exchange Servers, and *managed* anti-virus servers. Candidate must have a working knowledge of active directory and Veritas Backup Exec. Candidate should possess sound system troubleshooting techniques and computer system maintenance skills. Candidate must be an innovative troubleshooter and able to perform a breakdown and setup of networked system.
Canidate will perform daily management of site computer systems such as user administration, backup, and user accounts management. Enforce server and workstation configuration standards. Administer UNIX and Microsoft NT servers supporting Internet, email, and video teleconferencing services. Administer user account information, performance monitoring/tuning, data backups and restoration, system and network troubleshooting. 
Insure computer servers and workstations operate at optimal performance and capacity: configure routers, gateway protocols, and multiple local area networks (LAN) and wide areas network (WAN) topologies such as bridges, token rings point to point, fiber optic, thinnet, and thicknet applications. Monitor all networks using network management software (e.g., HP Open View). Plan and install operating system and application software upgrades and enhancements. Test, install, and maintain software tools and utilities. Provide customer service to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Candidate will be PCS*d for one year and expected to provide shift support up to 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and willing to work in hazardous areas.
When not deploying, the candidate will be part of 22 person team providing remote customer support to remote field sites.
Special experience/skills required: Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory/Domain Management. Candidate should hold an MCP in Windows 2000 / XP A+ or Network+ Certification. Candidates should be knowledgeable with various Microsoft products and MCSA or MCSE will be given preference. Comms and LINUX experience a plus but not a requirement for this position. Knowledge of security operations such as security safeguards administration, access filter definition, and penetration testing.
Requires bachelor*s degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) and seven to nine years of related experience. Military background preferred.
Must possess TS/SCI clearance with FS PG.
