                        <description><![CDATA[BA/BS with five (5) years of industry related sales or account management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ohio Health Insurance license required within 90-day probationary period. Continuing education as required by Ohio Department of Insurance.
Five (5) years of industry related sales or account management experience. Demonstrated track record of success, and understanding of sales and/or account management/account growth principles and techniques. Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with key market customers and their advisors. Strong track record of achieving growth within the Large Accounts Sector (Fortune 500 and/or large government, university accounts, national accounts), either as a sales manager or as an account manager.
Experience with multiple distribution channels, products and/or market segments. Familiarity with commercial employee benefits, insurance industry and HMO regulations, including State and Federal laws. Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, as well as strategic thinking and analysis skills. Existing relationships with key benefits consultants, nationally or in the Cleveland market preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills.
The position scope of the Strategic Accounts Manager includes but is not limited to the following abilities:
Attain profitable membership growth. Must help senior benefits consultants   associate account managers develop and monitor annual business plans for their prospective groups or existing books of businesses on a monthly basis, and drive corrective action when necessary.
Create and execute market segment strategy. Must be adept at forecasting short-term and long-term growth and disenrollment within the Strategic Accounts Market Segment. Must be able to easily identify the key opportunities and significant barriers to growing business in the large-group sector, and to formulate strategies and tactics to capitalize on the opportunities and minimize or eliminate barriers. Must effectively engage other areas which support the department (proposals, pricing, sales ops, competitive intelligence, etc.)
Engage broker/consultant communities. Able to articulate intangible concepts in a way that resonates with the decision makers and consultants who serve the strategic account segment. Must be able to expand Kaiser&apos;s relationships with the key decision makers in the market segment and brokers/consultants, and project a professional image and presentation to senior level decision makers in large accounts, as well as interact with other managers within Kaiser Permanente to effect change and secure adequate support for the products and services the market segment requires.
Coach high performing team. Must be adept at recruiting and training sales personnel and be willing and able to promote accountability within the market segment&apos;s sales force by working with weak performers to improve performance and implement corrective action plans when necessary. Direct continuous (year-round) strategic planning processes, especially the strategic approach to new and renewing groups, focused on key risks/opportunities.
