Sales Manager Industrial Biotech
About the Job
is an innovating technology company offering services and products based on expertise in synthesis production of complex molecules and the design of molecular purification equipment and systems (processes) to life sciences industries (pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and industrial biotech). In 2007, Novasep generated a turnover of over 1/2 billion dollars with an estimated annual increase of 6-8%. Novasep has two distinct groups: Novasep Synthesis and Novasep Process.
offers services including purification, meeting each customer’s specific needs.  Using specialized technologies, this division produces active principles entering into the composition of drugs intended for the pharmaceutical industry. These technologies also enable Novasep Synthesis to produce, mainly in the field of generic drugs, proprietary products developed and operated for the benefit of the company and subsequently marketed to pharmaceutical companies.
provides turnkey equipment and systems to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries as well as the industrial biotech industries (markets that involve functional food ingredients, bionutraceuticals, sugars, juices, and other specialty sweetener products). The equipment and services enable laboratories and life science industries to purify molecules they produce themselves, using continuous chromatography, for which Novasep is a leader in the pharmaceutical industry.
Since it was founded in 1995, Novasep maintains a close and active relationship with the main actors in the life science markets and it pays particular attention to developing it’s services to innovative companies with high growth potential active in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and industrial biotechnology markets. Novasep is active in markets offering attractive growth prospects. Their actors appreciate the value-added by trusted suppliers and partners such as Novasep who place tailor-made technical solutions at their disposal making it possible to market their products promptly and at a lower possible cost.
The main headquarters for Novasep is in Pompey in Meurthe-et-Moselle (France) with it’s main production operations in France and Germany with subsidiaries in the US, China, Japan, and Latin America. Novasep has over 1,300 employees spread over ten production and research and development sites with five sites responsible for sales’ activities.
has developed operations enabling the company to be the leader in the market for molecular purification and separation solutions used in the life sciences field. Novasep Process carries out the development of processes to obtain a specific molecule: design, execution, and supply of processes, and equipment and systems making it possible to purify and separate molecules (for pilot study or industrial quantities). These activities are spread over three centers of different markets that cover the following industries:
In 2007, Novasep Process generated a turnover of $100 million. This division employs 300 people spread over 4 main sites.
Novasep Process has proven cutting edge expertise in the field of chromatography, complemented by a command in ion exchange, absorption, membranes, crystallization, and evaporation technologies. Novasep Process has a range of technologies and skills enabling it to follow the changes for it’s clients’ needs, for example by using dis-countinous processes (crystallization, HPLC, SFC) making it possible to shorten the market release lead time, as well as continuous processes (Varicol ®, BioSC ®, continuous crystallization) to optimize the commercial production costs. The company also provides a full range of services, such as the supply of feasibility studies and process development, which offer substantial value added to it’s customers. The success of this division is largely due to it’s ability to offer innovating solutions that have made it possible to develop hundreds of purification processes used by pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food additives, and specialized chemical industries.
With it's multidisciplinary team of chemical engineers, biochemists, and chemists, the division combines processes (chromatography, extraction, membranes, crystallization, evaporation) and integrates the recycling of solvents to develop less costly and more environmentally friendly production processes. Together with Novasep Synthesis, the division offers it’s assistance and expertise in the field of purification and separation processes, in particular for multistage organic synthesis that must associate the synthesis and purification stages. This expertise enables optimal positioning of the purifications in a complex production diagram.
This person will seek to grow the sales, market share, profitability, and awareness of the Industrial Biotech business of Novasep Process in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Ensure and develop new business in the markets of: natural sweeteners, bionutraceuticals, fruit juices, specialty sugars, functional ingredients and other industrial biotech applications.
Familiarity with all the technologies mastered by Novasep are developed and promoted worldwide and in North America including: ion-exchange, filtration and membranes, industrial chromatographic separations, adsorption, evaporation and crystallization, and complete process lines.
Graduate from food science departments such as the University Wisconsin (Madison), Illinois (Champaign), California ( Berkley), New York (Campbell) or others is a plus.
