                        <description><![CDATA[The Designer of Sweaters for LOFT will execute the design process from conception to final prototype for assigned product(s). Is fully responsible for entire product design process to include market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit. 
*Only candidates with a strong Sweaters background will be considered.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: 
-Researches global, domestic and competitive markets to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques 
-Creates and executes the vision 
-Accountable for departmental financial/sales goals 
-Ensures that product is consistent with market trends while maintaining the Ann Taylor LOFT brand identity and business strategy 
-Executes silouhette, fit and styling direction 
-Partners with Merchandising team to set seasonal framework and ensure creative ideas and business goals are in tandem 
-Sets seasonal fabric/leather and yarn direction, working with Product Development on research and development of qualities 
-Maintains daily communication with Merchandising, Product Development, Production and Technical Design teams regarding QA results and development issues 
-Sets direction of fit and final approval of fit (when applicable) 
-Presents collection at Line Building, Concept Review and Line Review 
-Adheres to cross-functional calendar and attends all meetings as required 
-Approves and oversees all specification sheets. Pre-merchandises the line when designing the seasonâs collection 
-Must have strong knowledge and understanding of product/client and be able to deduce/make decision based on new information and changing trends 
Position Requirements: 
-Bachelors or Associates Degree, or equivalent,in Design and at least 5 years experience in Design, particularly Sweaters
-Creative and innovative sketching, design and conceptualization skills 
-Ability to design around concepts; Outstanding sense of style and color 
-Thorough knowledge of fabrications, silhouettes, color ways, construction techniques and trim 
-Outstanding leadership and managerial skills 
-Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions 
-Flexible/adaptable in a fast paced environment 
-Highly organized and has capacity to anticipate change based on events 
-Outstanding communication, presentation and persuasion skills 
-Good understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environment 
-Executes to timelines and provides timely solutions 
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Application

Assistant Manager
Position Overview:
To understand all aspects of store operations, including visual merchandising, asset protection, and expense control, as well as ensuring everything is done with the client top of mind. This position is assigned one of four Divisions of Responsibility (DOR), which rotate on a regular basis (Human Resources, Merchandise, Operations and Business). The Assistant Manager should have an understanding of each DOR prior to being considered for a Senior Assistant Manager position.
Position Requirements:
Human Resources: Ability to recruit others and provide positive or constructive feedback to associates
Client Service: Ability to function as a role model, ensuring that client remains the top priority
Organization: Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
Merchandising: Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement within Ann Taylorâs guidelines
Communication: Demonstration of strong verbal communication skills to Senior Assistant Manager, Store Manager, Area Manager, District Manager/Director and store associates
Business Analysis: Ability to understand and use Ann Taylorâs tools to drive volume; understand trends in the business
Educational Requirements and Experience:
Minimum Requirements: Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
