                        <description><![CDATA[Vista Host, with more than 20 select service properties nationwide, is seeking a Chief Engineer for our newest hotel - the Courtyard By Marriott in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Courtyard is a 114 room upscale property. It is located in the heart of Fayetteville and serves the University, medical, corporate and leisure communities. The hotel open in fall 2007. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive management company with unlimited growth potential. 
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the basic physical condition, engineering, organization, and budgeting of expenses. Responsibilities also include enforcing departmental policies and procedures, while maintaining the safety and security of the hotel. 
Within Vista Host, we pride ourselves in achieving superior results in operating hotels from our ability to blend the science of hotel management with the art of hospitality. We are looking for candidates who would thrive in an environment that is fast-paced and hands-on. Chief Engineer 
Job Summary - Manages all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues. 
Education and Experience 
High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. OR - 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. 
Skills and Knowledge 
Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on mechanical or technological equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. 
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines, computers, tools and other equipment, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 
Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. 
Troubleshooting - Determining causes of mechanical or technological operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
