Shift: Days

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 30.26 per hour Maximum: 40.25 per hour 
Job Summary: 
Under the direction of the Manager and a Team Leader in Clinical Nutrition, Adult Acute Care, this Dietitian I provides direct patient care and acts as a consultant to ensure that hospitalized patients receive appropriate nutrition care. She/he completes nutrition assessments and formulates nutrition care plans for patients in a variety of inpatient and outpatient areas. The dietitian monitors patient outcomes, communicates with team members and documents in an appropriate manner. This position may be involved in the education of nutrition interns, nursing and medical staff. This dietitian provides relief on an as needed basis (i.e. no guaranteed hours) at one or more of the following sites: Foothills Medical Centre, Peter Lougheed Centre, Rockyview General Hospital, Sheldon Chumir Centre, and other community sites. 
Qualifications: 
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Alberta.
- Permit to prescribe PN preferred or commitment to obtain.
- Member of Dietitians of Canada preferred.
- Evidence of knowledge in nutrition support.
- Commitment to providing quality service.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of effective counseling skills for individuals as well as groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability to apply knowledge, skills and judgment required for independent practice.

This position will share a caseload with another recreation therapist. The Recreation Therapist I ensures that his/her practice is evidence-based, client centred and meets recreation therapy clinical standards of practice. 
Qualifications: 
- Active membership with the Alberta Association of Recreation Therapists of Alberta to practice in recreation therapy. 
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association. 
- Experience in adult physical rehabilitation, preferably in the community desired. 
- Must be able to use considerable independent judgment and initiative to decide whether treatment requested is suitable for the condition and if contraindications exist. 
- Current CPR certification required. 
- May be required to work in the pool. 
- May be required to rotate to different services.

- Post secondary college program related to child development, social work, psychology or human resource development, or a related certification program or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training in Volunteer Resources Management. 
- A minimum of one year experience working with children in a supervised play care environment and/or with children with special needs. 
- Ability to work with patients and families while assisting staff. 
- Volunteer management and/or volunteer background would be an asset. 
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills required. 
- Honest, reliable, self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision. 
- Must possess personal integrity and honesty as the incumbent is exposed to volunteer personnel files. 
- Ability to work independently within the context of the team required. 
- Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals by using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding and acceptance of mental health issues required.
