The Coordinator, National Housing Research Committee and External Liaison is responsible for advancing the interests of the NHRC by conferring with CMHC senior management and the NHRCâs Administrative Committee and maintaining ongoing liaison with senior representatives of stakeholder groups and jurisdictions (NHRC members). Managing and coordinating all aspects of the operations of the National Research Housing Committee is accomplished with the assistance of the Analyst. This includes the following activities:To periodically develop and coordinate the implementation of an outreach strategy for gathering input from external clients, stakeholder groups and other key actors (including academics and opinion leaders) on priority areas for housing research, in consultation with CMHC senior management ; To lead and facilitate the development of strategy and establish direction for the National Housing Research Committee, including such issues as objectives, membership and scope of activities, in consultation with CMHC senior management and the NHRCâs Administrative Committee;In consultation with CMHC senior management and the NHRCâs Administrative Committee, establish priorities, review Working Group activities, recommend the initiation of joint projects, and exchange ideas and information relating to specific housing problems than can be addressed by research and then plan, organize and coordinate meetings of the Full Committee to respond to the interests that have been expressed and agreed upon;To identify the need for NHRC Working Groups and in consultation with CMHC senior management and the NHRCâs Administrative Committee establish such Groups as required;To work with the Full Committee and Working Group co-chairs (internal and external) to develop agendas, identify speakers and develop direction for each session, including sessions that take place outside Ottawa with an expanded audience;To manage research projects related to the NHRC, and in particular to advance the findings of the NHRCâs Researcher Mapping project that was undertaken in 2007. This includes the facilitation of a number of Task Groups that have emerged to further that work;To communicate research activities and results of the NHRC by managing its Web site, its webcasts, and through the development of its NHRC Newsletter twice annually. The development of other appropriate information products, such as meeting documents, reports, publications, and electronic documents are prepared as needed. The Coordinator works with Corporation specialists in the Communications Division and the Marketing Division to identify key audiences and distribution strategies;To prepare meeting documents (e.g., summaries and presentations) and coordinate the posting of them on the NHRC Web site and the Corporate Website (as appropriate); andTo work with other business lines at National Office, including Communications Division, Marketing Division, and Assisted Housing Division, and Regional Research and Information Transfer staff to further NHRC objectives; andTo work with external clients and stakeholders with whom CMHC may have either a formal or informal relationship to identify priority areas for research and opportunities for partnership, and to promote the exchange of information on housing research activities.

To promote CMHCâs NHA Mortgage-Backed Securities Program and Canada Mortgage Bonds Program to an assigned portfolio of clients, Capital Market participants, and the public. To assist the Corporation in meeting or exceeding Securitization business targets by managing clients within the assigned portfolio and ensuring that clients comply with program requirements.
Critical Activities
Promotes use of CMHC Securitization products and services with key contacts at an assigned portfolio of Approved Issuers and CMB Sellers working closely with the Securitization Program Officer and Administrators to ensure efficient operations within the pooling process and monitoring of NHA MBS pools.
Manages the application process for new program participants as well as the on-going review of all required annual documentation and monitoring requirements for all assigned clients. Promotes and assists in the administration of CMHCâs Securitization Programs in cooperation with active players from the Canadian financial community building and maintaining relationships with respective associations such as the Mortgage-Backed Securities Issuers Association.
Provides advice and information on CMHCâs Securitization products to clients at all corporate levels and the general public.
Develops with the Manager Operations a business plan with targets relating to Approved Issuer and Seller retention, Securitization product usage, as well as increasing the visibility for CMHCâs suite of Securitization products. 
Develops and implements marketing and training plans for the assigned portfolio of clients. Provides training sessions to new clients and proactively identifies any problem areas with existing clients and provides appropriate training as needed.
Approves the CMHC Timely Payment guarantee after ensuring that the applications are fully documented and consistent with program policies and procedures. 
Identifies instances of apparent default under the Program guidelines, investigates as appropriate and recommends corrective measures to the Manager Operations and the Director Operations and then communicates resulting actions to clients. 
Liaises regularly with an assigned portfolio of Approved Issuers, Approved Sellers and Swap Counterparties as well as other capital market participants to provide them with appropriate policy or procedure interpretations/clarifications.
Develops and maintains a good knowledge of the clients&apos; needs, concerns and suggestions in order to provide appropriate input and recommendations for Program changes and improvement.
Coordinates CMB Issuance process for assigned portfolio of clients ensuring that communication is maintained with clients throughout the process and that all documents and pricing information are received at the required timeframes identified for each transaction.
Education
University Degree in Business Economics or Finance or related field with a minimum of three (3) years related business experience OR an equivalent mix of education and experience with related business experience.
ExperienceProven experience in customer relations Experience, knowledge in the NHA-MBS and CMB Program would be a definite asset as would be successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course.KnowledgeKnowledge of CMHC and its programs, mortgage lending, insurance and servicing Knowledge of fixed income securities with a strong knowledge of asset-backed securities Knowledge of mortgage accounting and mortgage-backed securities accounting.

This entails the support of the delivery of loans by the A.C.C., the administration of the Agreement with the A.C.C. (daily review of controls -- reports and actions --, establishment of new controls, the payment of fees to the A.C.C., review of fees, and the daily and periodic monitoring of the A.C.C.âs activities) as it relates to the delivery of loans under the On-Reserve and Urban Native housing programs.To provide guidance, direction and service to external and internal clients: P/Tâs who have signed the SHA, to the ACC - pilot project agreement on Aboriginal Capacity Development, and to CMHCâs direct lending offices.To implement specific innovative approaches and solutions to resolve issues, and recommend the need for policy changes.
