immediate openings for night shift Assistant Nurse Managers in our Labor and Delivery  L D  and Obstetrician  OB  depts  This position is located in Moreno Valley  This job will require you to work in Birthing Center  L D  Postpartum  and Newborn Nursery  Shift is from 7 00p   7 00a with a night shift differential  The salary is approximately $36 hr depending on experience  Must have recent experience as a charge nurse in Labor and Delivery  L D   Obstetrician  OB   and or Postpartum Under direction  to assist the Nurse Manager in planning  organizing  directing  and evaluating nursing services within the nursing unit  Act for the Nurse Manager during absences or as directed  and to do other work as required  This class serves as the assistant to the Nurse Manager and assists in the overall supervision and coordination of operations within specific nursing units  This class differs from the Assistant Head Nurse in that the latter supervises and evaluates nursing staff on a specific unit on an assigned shift whereas the scope of responsibilities of the Assistant Nurse Manager spans all aspects of nursing care  24 hours per day  Examples Of Duties    Supports the Nurse Manager in planning  coordinating  and supervising the work of nursing personnel    Assists in evaluating the performance of subordinate personnel    Assists in the scheduling of personnel    Assists in the development of policies and procedures  standards of care and practice  and in the monitoring of nursing care in relation to those standards    Assists in preparing administrative reports related to budget and unit operations    Promotes reliability in the acuity classification of patients and serves as a working charge nurse as needed to meet staffing requirements    Assists Nurse Manager to assure compliance with JCAHO  Title XXII  and other regulatory standards    Assists in the coordination of in service educational programs and staff meetings    Assists preceptors in developing unit orientation programs for new nurses    Promotes collaboration with other departments and physicians    Acts for Nurse Manager during absences or as directed    Represents the Inpatient Treatment Facility in committee meetings as directed  Typical Qualifications  Must have recent experience as a charge nurse in Labor and Delivery  L D   Obstetrician  OB   and or Postpartum Option IExperience  Three years of experience as an Acute Care Nurse or Clinic Health Nurse or equivalent  at least one year of which included charge or senior level responsibility  Experience gained as an Interim Permit Nurse may be credited toward meeting the required acute or non acute health care experience  Graduation from a recognized college with a Bachelor s degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of the required experience  Option IIExperience  One year of experience as an Assistant Head Nurse or an equivalent supervisory position in a health care facility  Additional QualificationsKnowledge of  Application of the nursing process  full range of registered nurse duties and responsibilities  principles and methods of supervision and training  basic management skills  problem solving techniques  Ability to  Plan  organize  supervise and evaluate nursing services on specific unit s   communicate effectively  positively manage change and conflict  interpret licensure and accreditation standards  analyze and draft department policies and procedures  apply productive problem solving skills  write clear and concise reports  perform registered nurse responsibilities according to the State of California Nurse Practice Act  implement the nursing process  License Certificate  Possession of a current California Registered Nurse License  issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing  Supplemental Information  The Birthing Center The Birthing Center consists of  12  LDR  Labor  Delivery  Recovery  Rooms   2  OB Operating Rooms  A  35  bed Post Partum Unit and a well baby nursery  We care for a variety of patients many with high risk health problems in conjunction to pregnancy  C Sections and tubal ligations are done on the unit within our OB Operating Rooms  We get involved in our community by providing WIC  Women  Infants and Children  classes and Lamaze Education and participate in a car seat program providing a car seat to all mothers who deliver in our facility  Riverside County Regional Medical Center is a teaching facility that offers a supportive environment and encourages professional growth  development and advancement  The hospital s benefit package is superior to any other facility in our area  We offer twelve hour shifts  with some eight hour shifts available  Classes required for the Birthing Center Staff are Fetal
