 Three or more years of experience in a personnel- or human resources-related position.

 Extensive experience and knowledge of various software programs.

 Work activity may include prolonged periods of time sitting, standing.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
The Personnel Assistant II performs work in support of human resource professionals uses personnel procedures, guides, and precedents in the areas of compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration. The PA II serves as a clerical expert in independently processing the most complicated types of personnel actions, e.g., temporary employment, rehires, and dismissals. 
Answers phones, files, and inputs information into the computer using various software programs.
Prepares and processes personnel action documents using experience in applying personnel procedures and policies. 
Evaluates and consolidates information from various sources, often with short deadlines.
Reports on company employment statistics (retention, equal opportunity reporting, etc). 
Resolves conflicts in computer listings or other sources of employee information. 
Locates lost documents or reconstructs information using a number of sources. 
Checks references when needed, and judgment is required to ask appropriate routine follow-up questions. 
May provide guidance to lower level personnel assistants. 
Completes routine assignments independently.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
The Operations Specialist performs varied clerical duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office.
Handles differing situations, problems, and deviations in the work of the office according to the supervisor&apos;s general instructions, priorities, duties, policies, and program goals. Supervisor may assist secretary with special assignments. Duties include or are comparable to the following: 
Screens telephone calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence; personally responds to requests for information concerning office procedures; determines which requests should be handled by the supervisor, appropriate staff member or other offices. May prepare and sign routine, non-technical correspondence in own or supervisor&apos;s name.
Schedules tentative appointments without prior clearance. Makes arrangements for conferences and meetings and assembles established background materials, as directed. May attend meetings and record and report on the proceedings. 
Reviews outgoing materials and correspondence for internal consistency and conformance with supervisor&apos;s procedures; assures that proper clearances have been obtained, when needed.
Collects information from the files or staff for routine inquiries on office program(s) or periodic reports. Refers non-routine requests to supervisor or staff. 
Explains to subordinate staff supervisor&apos;s requirements concerning office procedures.
