Designs, develops, and maintains software to meet product test requirements. Works individually and in a team environment to create applications, tools, and frameworks to support test automation, bench testing, and diagnostics. Executes test programs, updates result databases, and prepares technical reports to track testing progress. Troubleshoots test anomalies to root cause. Participates in test case development based on product requirements and designs specifications. Revises testing methods and processes to improve overall test quality. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor&apos;s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience of at least 7 years, with a strong coding skill set.
Experience with testing processes, troubleshooting techniques, and failure analysis.
Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with C/C++, Java, or other high-level object-oriented languages.
Experience with multi-threaded application design.
Experience with GUI development.
Desired qualifications:
Experience with C# and .NET.
Experience with Perl, Python, or other scripting languages.
Experience with embedded software development.
Experience with HTML, XML, ASP, or other web technologies.

Responsible for PCB board signal integrity design, lab test and validation. 
Design efforts are work flow based from proposal to implementation using Cadence based schematic and layout tools, and circuit modeling software. 
Validation activity, including test plans and reports, involves using high-speed bit error rate testers, VNA, and high speed oscilliscope. 
Team environment requires interaction with ASIC designers, firmware engineers, DVT staff, OEM customers, and component manufacturers.
A minimum of 5 years experience in PCB hardware design. 
Design areas include: ASIC package, PCB fabrication, interface timing, power regulator circuitry, EMI, signal integrity, high speed digital design, component selection and cost analysis. 
Lab abilities include measurement of key electrical parameters, coorelating simulation results, prototype bringup and debug, operating system control, and software utilities. 
Demonstrated writing skills (Word/Excel) for reports and proposals. 
Desired qualifications:
Additionally, experience designing and supporting PCI Express based host bus adapter cards, Fibre Channel and 10Gb Ethernet products through the development and support cycle would be beneficial. 
Experience with Tektronix and Agile high-speed oscilliscopes.

Reporting to the VP of Quality and Test Engineering, provide leadership for Continuous Improvement and cultural alignment toward Quality Objectives that support business strategies. 
Instill and leverage the concepts of continuous improvement, customer driven purpose, and disciplined problem solving throughout the extended organization, suppliers and customers. 
Working with the Operations team, develop and deploy methodologies to support lean sigma philosophy to our internal processes and to the extended supply chain. 
Define, prioritize and execute specific projects to eliminate waste and improve overall performance metrics in the areas of cost, quality, and responsiveness. 
Work with key resources inside of Emulex and through the extended supply chain to educate, promote, and implement systemic improvements and disciplined problem solving. 
Develop the necessary training/education programs for the appropriate teams to understand the concepts of lean six sigma including value stream mapping, identification and elimination of waste/muda, and Kaizen methodology. 
Build cross-functional teams that are capable of driving continuous and/or corrective improvement that includes establishing specific goals and plans to achieve the desired quality oriented results. 
Ensure the measurements processes, tools and resources are in place and effective to capture the impact of the team&apos;s efforts, and report to Sr. Management. 
Support corporate initiatives for Global Citizenship, Social Responsibility, Environment, etc. as primary focal point for Operations and supporting OEM customer requirements in this regard. Educate the extended supply chain and work with them to deploy and measure the necessary processes to support Global Citizenship objectives.
Drive Quality Council, lead maintenance and improvement of ISO9001 compliant Quality Management System, corporate process improvements, Quality Metrics and reporting for all Emulex sites. Lead Internal Audit program with focus of process effectiveness, rather than simple compliance. 
Interface with IT to determine, define, develop, test and implement IT infrastructure solutions to support key QMS related processes such as 8D/CAR, Stop/Purge/Resume, Failure analysis, Factory product/yield performance   traceability, product and process quality performance metrics, reporting and analysis, etc.
BS in a technical discipline or equivalent, 15+ years training and experience. 7 years at a management level.
Proven ability to influence and motivate people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels to effect and manage change, and drive initiatives to beneficial results.
Strong Problem Solving skills.
Proven ability to gather and analyze data to draw appropriate conclusions about needed change/action.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Passionate advocate for the customer.
Highly organized, detail oriented.
Experience in practical application of ISO9001, ISO14000, RoHS, Global Citizenship and other industry requirements.

Emulex is currently hiring in the ASIC Engineering Development department. We are seeking an Sr. Principal Verification Engineer to work out of our San Jose office. The Engineer will be responsible for aspects of ASIC development with a specific focus on verification. Engineer will be a technical lead, implement verification infrastructure including stimulus, checking and monitoring devices. The engineer will work closely with a geographically diverse design and verification teams to deliver state of the art ASICs for use in Emulex storage networking products.
The following experience is required of this role:
BS CS/EE or MS EE/CS, or equivalent training with 8+ years experience in verification.
Experience in state of the art stimulation tools, environment and methodologies.
Excellent ability to analyze and solve problems related to ASIC development. 
Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, C++, and SystemC coding and VMM, OVM, or eRM methodology experience in designing complete verification environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment with multi-site product teams.
Track record of ASICs taken from definition through production release.
Strong understanding of network Storage, Fibre Channel. iSCSI and interfaces such as PCI Express, DDRII, GbE, 10GbE, FCoE, ATA, SATA, SAS, XAUI XGMII.
