Incumbent responsible for developing externally oriented, customer driven strategy initiatives which will assist GHH in contributing to company growth.The essence of the role is an external focus in understanding the needs of markets and customers that may create opportunities in emerging health care environment (technical and business solutions).Duties/Responsibilities 1) Continually scans external environment for changes in health care landscape that could provide new business opportunities for Merck.2) Defines data needs for strategy development; oversees data gathering and analysis from primary and secondary research (such as analysts reports, other companies public filings, consultants information and information from region marketing groups, finance, academia, corporate business development), understands implications and translates to inform strategy recommendations in the commercial division.3) Formulates strategic options to provide a path of analysis and review that enables timely portfolio decisions, based on commercial priorities and resources by SVP S   I and review by HH Leadership team.4) Works with Finance to model industry scenarios and quantify financial impact of options under evaluation.5) Establishes and maintains relationship between Company Chief Strategy Office, the Corp leader of Strategy Development, and GHH PROS to ensure alignment across the portfolio.Qualifications 7 years of strong strategy experience and competitive intelligence gathering in the healthcare industry required; requires executive presence, excellent communications skills (written, oral and presentation).Must be able to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
