The Biosciences Research Organization supports future healthcare initiatives to develop individualized prediction, diagnosis and treatment monitoring solutions based on a patient's unique genetic background combined with advanced diagnostic imaging techniques and clinical information management systems. These initiatives start by understanding the molecular origins of diseases. By finding and under-standing cellular expressions, or biomarkers, that indicate the beginning of a disease, Biosciences researchers are able to focus on developing targeted contrast agents that will seek out those biomarkers and enable clinicians to image and track them. Breakthroughs like this will lead to earlier diagnosis, new treatments, more efficient monitoring of therapeutic efficacy and ultimately better patient care. Biosciences also discovers new tools for biomedical research and supports several businesses in their biology related activities. The cross-disciplinary teams within GE's Global Research Centers are addressing these issues include researchers from the Biosciences Research Organization and major technology areas such as optical physics, organic and inorganic materials, controls and systems, nano-technology, and imaging sciences. The work being done by the researchers in the Biosciences and other Global Research Center technology organizations aims to change the healthcare paradigm from \"see and treat\" to \"predict and prevent.\"
You will report directly to the Global Technology Leader for Biosciences.
This position is eligible for the GE Global Research Double Rewards Employee Referral Program.
Equal Opportunity Employer GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.

Imaging Technologies is a multi-disciplinary and diverse organization with ~170 researchers innovating and developing technology in the areas of Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Positron Emission Tomography, Ultrasound, Digital X-ray, Electromagnetic and Superconductivity systems, and Visualization and Computer Vision. Since the invention of the modern medical x-ray tube in 1913 by GE scientist William Coolidge, we have been imagining and building new ways for clinicians to see inside the human body, and this history of imaging system breakthroughs has kept GE at the forefront of medical imaging. Today, our scientists are exploring new applications for imaging in both the security and industrial non-destructive testing spaces. At the same time, we are charting new territory in the emerging field of molecular imaging, where medical imaging meets genomics research. Our researchers are finding new ways to see beyond structures in the body and image cellular function. This work holds the potential to discover diagnostic methods for identifying diseases before traditional symptoms appear - a breakthrough that would shift the healthcare paradigm from \"see and treat\" to \"predict and prevent\".
The Electromagnetics and Superconductivity Lab works in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams from across GE Global Research, GE Healthcare, GE Energy, and GE Aviation to develop next generation superconducting system technologies.
