                        <description><![CDATA[The material analyst will align and drive the output of the Sales and
Operations Planning (S OP) process, New Product Development (NPD)
process, and the Purchasing Function Supply Teams with and through the
plant level materials&apos; organizations for specific products. This
position will be a member of one of three Supply Teams (Vitreous, Cast
Iron   Stainless Steel, and Plastics   Doors). Management of Raw and WIP
inventory levels, communications of requirements to the supply base and
production schedule execution will be the key functions of this
position.
The material analyst role when assigned to the delivery improvement
project will learn business solutions for S OP, Production Scheduling
and Component planning and train the various associates in the plants or
corporation on the process.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Core
Coordinate communication of master production schedules to individual
plants and assist in driving requirements to the supply base. Attend and
participate, as required, in all production planning meetings.
Establish and execute processes to manage PCI activities specifically
focusing on engineering changes related to direct material
specifications, phase in and phase out (obsolescence) of finished goods
and components, and associated bill of materials. Conduct appropriate
analysis as to provide timely direct feedback to engineering as to the
timing of PCI execution. Communicate impact on manufacturing and on
supply base to stakeholders, as needed.
As directed, coordinate requirements between New Product Development
Platform Teams, Purchasing and manufacturing facilities ([URL Withheld]. ensure 1st
production purchase orders are place in a timely manner.) Responsible
for 1st product on-line delivery metric.
Coordinate the handoff of information from marketing to senior master
schedulers to ensure demand is loaded for verification and inventory
builds. Validate bill of materials and ensure cascade of demand to
supply base.
Develop tools to systematically identify potential pinch points in
supplier capacity due to significant shifts in demand. Provide liaison
between supplier and multiple manufacturing plants on direct material
requirements in order to provide supplier with complete demand picture.
Provide training to manufacturing facilities, as required, on system
changes, strategic initiatives, and day to day materials functions. This
would include but would not be limited to Supply planning implementation
activities, cycle counting, supplier relations and forecast
communication, etc.
Provide direct support to pull   lean activities initiated by
manufacturing facilities with supply base ensuring consistency of
methods and execution across PA fixtures. Leverage both automated and
visual systems for best in class performance. Assist in the deployment
of e-business solutions designed to create partnerships with supply
base.
Support improvements that materially effect customer service levels and
support conversion to available to promise (ATP) methods while improving
total inventory turns.
Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, as required, to drive
improvements within manufacturing facilities and across business
functions ([URL Withheld]. NPD, Supply Management, and Purchasing).
Participate in the Kohler Operating System (KOS) activities aligned to
improve physical and administrative processes focused on materials
management activities. Specifically, become familiar with and have the
ability to identify the appropriate tool given a process improvement

Project, etc.)
As required, assist in the development and execution of contingency
activities to ensure consistent flow of direct materials to
manufacturing facilities in time of crisis.
Delivery Improvement Project
Develop SAP systems knowledge of S OP process to include Flex Planning
in R3, Demand Planning in APO, and train the various associates
responsible for the daily activities. Understand how to develop product
line strategies and setting up of master data in SAP to support the
business decisions, to include establishing ABC strategies, adjusting
lead times, and setting of safety stock.
Develop SAP systems knowledge of standard and custom scheduling tools
for repetitive manufacturing, discrete manufacturing as necessary, and

BASIC FUNCTION: 
Lead and manage North American transportation operations, freight invoice payment, and US Governmental/Department of Transportation regulatory compliance functions for Kohler Co. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish and maintain guidance for external entities shipping to Kohler US business destinations.
Negotiate and set rates for Kohler Co. transportation lanes (for Road, Rail, Intermodal, Air, Parcel, Transportation Brokerage, and Expedited freight carriers). Maintain a database of rates for transportation purchasing leverage across the enterprise. Supervise the auditing and payment of freight bills and invoices pertaining to North American T L.
Manage Freight Claims processes and return-of-goods in support of Kohler Co. Reverse Logistics strategies, valued at more than $50M annually. Ensure appropriate documentation requirements, acceptable claims criteria and monitoring tools are in place to support effective packaging or other business decisions. Represent Kohler and advocate carrier needs internally where necessary.
Collaborate and provide expertise to business unit Supply Chain organizations, including for warehouse and storage requirements. Help determine network distribution strategy and recommend improvements to achieve economic and customer service objectives. Assist with support for plant expansion(s), including T L cost analyses for site selection.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Lead best cost country sourcing for the appropriate sub-categories for year over year net cost reductions. Lead the supply base in implementation of eCommerce tools to automate transactions, bring flexibility and transparency to the supply chain.
Work closely with strategic and preferred suppliers to identify and resource productivity/cost down initiatives through the use of VA/VE tools.
Work with Supplier Quality and Engineering to develop new suppliers as required. Drive leading edge procurement by working closely with the supply base and the material planning group to actively integrate the suppliers into Kohler plants through the appropriate use of Kanbans, VMI or related tools.

Leadership:

Responsible to communicate successes and best practices between the Wisconsin manufacturing facilities.
In conjunction with Supplier Quality, the Quality Manager is responsible to define the processes and responsible of the Wisconsin facilities quality staff regarding supplier caused quality incidents. 
Reduce defective product:
Lead the analysis of scrap issues, warranty claims, and finished goods audit failures
Work with efficiency and production groups to develop plans to reduce the causes of scrap.
Respond promptly to issued Corrective Action Requests (CAR from customers or internally) and Field Complaints ensuring that the true root cause is found using a disciplined problem solving method and instituting both corrective and preventive action.
Upon notification of defective product, determine root cause, lead and approve implementation of corrective actions and future control plans.
Manage Supplier Defective Material Report (SDMR) process to ensure that any supplier caused quality issues are recorded and root cause is uncovered and addressed. 
Quality/Process Improvement:
Lead the Wisconsin plants in the identification and elimination of sources of variation.
Lead the implementation of process capability analysis, control plans, process FMEA&apos;s, and statistical process control on critical processes in both Wisconsin facilities. 
Interface with the division quality team on training, organizing, conducting, and analyzing statistical design of experiments
Quality Systems:
Develop and maintain world-class quality systems modeled after QS/ISO 9001. Drive standardization and improvement of Operational Quality utilizing the Kohler Quality Management System (KQMS).
Participate in the development and implementation of Power Systems quality improvement initiatives.
Initiate shipment holds or screen stocks due to faulty parts or products.
Supervise the CMM departments.
Manage and direct Receiving Inspection&apos;s policies and procedures.
Responsible for definition and execution of nonconforming processes (deviations, screen stocks, product holds, etc). throughout the Wisconsin facilities
Responsible for the definition and maintenance of quality metrics to ensure product quality in the Wisconsin facilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate with a minimum of three year&apos;s business office experience.
A demonstrated ability to develop, organize, and maintain an efficient office environment and several data management systems concurrently. A demonstrated ability to type documents from transcriptions or hard copy.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products software (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Access
