This position supports Commercial Market Specialty Lines. Specialty Lines consists of four business units. It contains Alternative Markets (CM Affinity), Global, Umbrella, and Energy. Specialty Lines Actuarial provides ongoing pricing analysis, reserving analysis and monitoring of these businesses. Specialty Lines is approximately $600M of direct written premium.
Specialty Lines Actuarial has an opening for an Actuary or Senior Actuary to support its Alternative Markets Program and its Global business. This position will report to the Senior Managing Actuary of Specialty Lines, and will be responsible for analysis, booking of direct and ceded financial results for portions of the Program book and Global books of business. The position will also be responsible for pricing of the Program book of business, and monitoring the letter of credit requirements for Global. The position will also be responsible for planning for Programs and Global. The position will interact with and be responsible for communicating results to Finance, Programs, Global and various Specialty partners. In addition to being technically proficient, this person must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Pricing of Program business. Includes Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, and Property coverages. This includes working with underwriting and management to construct profitable pricing structures.
Supervise 1 to 2 actuarial students and provide all aspects of training, development, management review, performance review, as well as coaching and monitoring of exam progress.
Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively express technical actuarial and statistical concepts to non-technical individuals internal and external to the organization

Responsibilities:
